ありがとうございます。このような意味になるということは、ここで使われているbear自体はどんな意味を持っていることになるのでしょうか。このbearの使い方がどうもはっきりしないのですが。

It bears the traces of our common past → 「私達が共有する過去の形跡をもっていて」のような訳のほうが正確ですね。辞書にbearの意味として「もつ」ときっと記載されています。
