Essential Grammar in Useという本の内容で分からないところがあります。all, most, some, any, no/noneに関する問題の中に、Some of questions in the exam were very easy.という文に間違いがあれば訂正するのですが、私はthe exam と特定されているものが後に来るので Some of the questions…と直し、正解でした。しかし、解答は２つあり、some of the questionsの他にsome questions といものもありました。また、同じように訂正する問題でMost of students in our class are very nice.というものがあり、同じようにMost of the studentsと回答したところ、正解が２つありMost of the students とMost studentsでした。てっきり、一般的なものはof theをつけず、特定のものにはof theを使用するのかと思っていました。of の有無はどのように決めれば良いのでしょうか？

両方の文はほぼ同じと思います。of theがあってもなくても、自然に聞こえます。
Students in our classの文を例にすると:
Most of the students in our class are very nice.→私たちのクラスの生徒の内、殆どはとてもいい人
Most students in our class are very nice.→私たちのクラスの生徒の殆どはとてもいい人
のようなニュアンスでしょうか。
あと、私が思い付く違いとして、例えば前文は
Our class has 10 students.
とあった場合
Most of the students are nice. だけでも、そのクラスの生徒の話であることがわかります。
つまり、ofの有無に関して
Most students are very nice. は言えますが、Most of the students are very nice.のような文は、前に例えばour class has ten students 等のような文がないと、変な文になります。
