初めて出てくるのにthe

この文章の「the chance to taste it.」で、chanceという語は初めて登場しますが、なぜaでなくtheなのでしょう？One of her students from Kyoto University demonstrated a real tea ceremony for the crowd in Washington. After the student prepared the Matcha, one lucky audience member got the chance to taste it.

この場合はaでもtheでも違和感ないです。
他のaudience member がtasteのchanceがないとか、特別なchanceであるからtheなのかもしれません。多分got a chance to の方が多く使われそうな気がします。
