なぜremainsにsがつくのでしょうか。三単現以外でsがつく場合ってありますか？

三単現だと思います。 he/she/it 現在形動詞s
例えばheの場合は Tom runsとかMichael sleeps Itの場合はthe car speedsとかthe window remains ～とかthe fact remains ～ 等です。
